Dozens of undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students participate in the SLAS2018 Student Poster Competition. A panel of judges selects the top three during the Monday poster presentation session, with winners announced at the SLAS Booth at 4:00 pm Monday, Feb. 5. Following the announcement, winning posters will be displayed in the SLAS Booth for the remainder of the Exhibition.
The SLAS New Product Award is issued annually to up-to-three exhibiting companies that introduce outstanding new technologies at this international SLAS Conference and Exhibition. 2018 winners will be first announced at a press conference (open to all SLAS2018 attendees) at 5:00 pm Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the Exhibition Theater. Then, on Wednesday morning, New Product Award winners will be interviewed by The Lab Man in the SLAS Booth starting at 10:30 am.
F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen to inspire an appreciation of science and technology in young people. The FIRST Robotics Competition is a global experience that helps young scientists see the value of education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Stop by to meet students from FLL Team Robo Junkies and FRC Team Rogue Techs at SLAS2018.

Entries to the SLAS2018 Passport to Prizes program are collected in the SLAS Booth during exhibit hours. Prize winners are drawn from all entries received during contest hours. The prize drawing takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 11:45 a.m. and winners must be present to claim their prizes.
